Yesterday was a BIG day for this little guy. He turned 3 and he's pretty excited about that!
Here is how his day went...
After waking up promptly after mentioning it was his birthday, he opened his first gift, a Buzz Lightyear shirt and then had a bowl of his favorite cereal, Quaker's Apple Cranberry Almond granola.
And since he is Buzz's biggest fan, we made a quick trip to the grocery store to pick up some appropriately colored balloons. When I told the employee the balloons were for his Buzz Lightyear birthday, he just had to mention that they "actually sell Buzz mylar balloons", duuUUhh, which I'm sure would have been way cooler.
When we got home, Jaina colored him a Buzz picture and then added a few embellishments of her own, which included a hand drawn shark and pet dog, and homemade beaver teeth she made out of strips of curled paper that she plastered to the page.
After a lunch of tuna sandwiches, "fire chips" (Doritos), and watermelon, which he didn't like (silly kid), he played in the pool...
and then sunbathed for a minute.
and then I made a Buzz-less birthday cake, and luckily he didn't complain, in fact I had to guard the cake after noticing a couple of tiny fingerprints in it.
Then we went for a walk/ride on his new razor scooter, which he is quite protective of, and then had a dinner of burgers and steak fries dipped in fry sauce, his favorite. Then we had his cake and homemade icecream.
It was a busy day and he was very much ready for bed by the end of the night.
Here are some of our favorite things about Grey.

"I like it when "Day Day" says 'saawwyyy' (sorry) in his silly voice" Daddy
and I like it when he comes in our room at night and climbs onto my side of the bed, but only because he knows if he goes on Jon's side, he gets put right back into his own bed.
I just love how he melts right into my arms as we fall back asleep! But then after my arm falls asleep, I sneak him back into his bed.
I also love how easy going he is, how he can play with old play doh for hours, and I love the cool cars he makes out of legos. And I also love it when I look at him sometimes, he'll hide his head and peak out to see if I am still looking at him, which I usually am, and he'll hide right back. And I love his beautiful gray-blue eyes and his cute little teeth when he smiles, and his double cowlick on the back of his head, and his silly voices, and the birthmark on his right knee and the other one on the back of his lower left leg, and... oh,
I love everything about him!
It was a great day! And did I mention, it was my birthday, too! Grey is still the best present I ever got! Although, Jon promised me he was going to get me this as soon as we can afford it. I'm pretty excited about that!
