Hi everyone! Remember me? It's been a while.
We've been busy these last couple of months with family, home and yard things. I thought I would share what we've been up to.
First off, we found out what we are having a GIRL!!!
We are so excited and feel so blessed to have another child join our family. I am 25 weeks now and feeling pretty good, despite the dang varicose veins I have.
I repainted our front room...again, and am so happy with it. The color is enamelware from Martha Stewart.
It makes me feel so happy when I walk in there.
I am a fan of Ikea and not ashamed to admit it:) I think we own about 4 of these expedit shelves now.
The vintage fan we found at a consignment store in SLC called Abode. If you love anything vintage, you should check this store out. The selection is really fun and the cute lady that owns the store is such a sweetheart.
With a little bit of bribing and a touch of whining, I got Jon to build these frames around our windows on the main floor and they were just what we needed to make these windows pop.
My husband is a very talented man. He can build just about anything I need him to.
Me and Jon have a lot of fun finding old pieces of furniture to fix up and make our own.
He found this dresser at the DI for $30. It was black and quite the ugly little thing, but with a little bit of elbow grease, some paint and an arrangement of faux crystal knobs from Hobby Lobby, we were able to make it into quite a nice storage place for our movies, VCR and such.
The end table and lamp base I found at the DI and repainted.
For the lamp, I couldn't find a mustard yellow spray paint I liked so I just bought a paint sample from home depot for $3 (they come in a flat sheen only) and then sprayed it with a clear gloss Krylon spray paint. The lamp shade came from Ikea.
I also put an arrangement of fabrics I already had in the embroidery hoops.
The black couch is quite an eye soar- maybe because it is old and made of torn black vinyl or maybe because it is duct taped together, I'm not sure- but Jon hates it. Until I can find an old vintage love seat, it will just have to do.
I love the top picture that Hunter brought home from school a while ago from art day. It is a picture of our home.
The picture of our kids was taken by Jon's talented twin brother. I love it!
This coffee table was dubbed the name "the tank" from Grey. It is an old warehouse cart we found on KSL. It was not in good shape, at all, when we went to look at it, but I was convinced it would be super easy to fix up... well, 10 hours of hard manual labor later, and about 10 times of saying I wanted to give up, this is what we got.
It's the closest thing I'll ever get to having hard wood floors.
Now I just need that black and white cowhide rug and a sunburst clock I've wanted forever.
Moving on to the next project: The kids Playroom, yeah!!!
This has been, by far, my favorite room to decorate! It is located in our loft upstairs.
Just about everything was purchased at Ikea, except for a few odds and ends that I've collected over the years.
Jon plans on putting 4 small fish tanks on the horizontal cubby on the far gray wall. He is so excited about it and I must say that I am, too! One tank will have a clown fish anemone, another will have seahorses for Jaina (her favorite), the third will have Jon's favorite salt water fish, the frogfish- which is an ugly little thing, but he is in love, and the last we're not sure yet.

A collection of DI finds from over the years and the ABC car was made by my dad.
One of my favorite places in this room is the window seat. The kids love to sit up there!
I still need to cover the foam, I'm thinking in a bright cherry red fabric. The blue and black & white fabrics on the pillows are from Ikea and the yellow chevron fabric is from fabric.com. I just sewed them right up into pillows. The big leaf canopy is also an Ikea purchase and just makes the whole area fun.
I love the bins under the bench seat where the kids store their legos and train tracks. Everything stays so much more organized.
Toys... oh joy!
Next room: Hunter and Grey's bedroom.
This is just a taste of what I'll be doing in there. This is the paint color I'm going with. It's called cypress from Ralph Lauren. I am in love with it, but Jon thinks it looks like the color you'd see inside a baby's diaper, arggh. He will like it, just you see!
Holy smokes- this is a long post, take a deep breath... here we go.
We've been walking/ riding Hunter to school almost everyday it's been nice.
We meet up with our little group of friends and head right over to the school.
Some days it takes us longer when Grey insists on picking up every potato bug on the way there.
Hunter's class lining up to go in. I cannot believe school will be out in a month. Hunter has loved school and not once said he didn't want to go.
Jon built these garage shelves that have been SOOO great to have! Did I mention I have a super talented husband?!
We've been busy with yard work.
My mom came down in her Ford truck that she drives around in and helped me unload three full truck loads of compost. That's right, just the two of us, a pregnant woman and a 66 year old grandma. My mom is amazing!
Jon built this grape fence and we got the cute little grape starts planted.
We can't wait to have our own grape juice!
We planted our early Spring crops and they are sprouting right up.
And lastly, we've been having fun with these three little monkeys! I love them so much! They make making our house a home, worth it!
