It has been such an exciting week! Our beautiful baby was born on Friday, May 22nd at 12:49 pm. That also happens to be my birthday and it was the best present I have ever gotten! We named him Grey Richard. He weighed 7 lbs even and was 19 1/2 inches long. He looks just like Hunter, which makes it fun and brings back a lot of memories when he was that small.
Here I am just before delivery. Okay, maybe not just before because I look way too happy. My water broke at 1 am on Friday while I was trying to fall asleep. I was slightly panicked because Jaina was born an hour after my water broke with her. Luckily I have the best sister in the world who packed up her sleeping kids and headed to our house to watch mine. (you are so awesome Nae!) Unfortunately, I pretty much had zero contractions for 7 hours after that so they put me on pitosin and after a grueling hour of labor, he was born!
Hunter and Jaina absolutely love Grey. Jaina giggled the entire time she held him and Hunter had a big smile on his face.
It made it all worth it watching Jon with Grey. He fell in love with him at once and I just love watching the tender side of Jon come out (because it rarely does!)
Grey is now only 5 days old, but it seems like he has always been a part of our family. I couldn't take my eyes off him the first time they handed him to me and I still can't! There is something so special about a new baby. I feel so lucky to be his mommy! We love you Grey!
