Hunter and his kindergarten class were so lucky this year to perform in their very own opera. His teacher is the only one that does it in the entire school, so we were really fortunate to be involved with it.
Hunter and his class came up with the story, which is about these naughty wart hogs that punch holes in the tiger and cheetahs cage and then they go pop holes in the pirates castle. The story goes on where the pirates try to capture the wart hogs in a net, but accidentally catch the tigers and cheetahs, but then they finally catch the warthogs when a bolder rolls down the hill and pushed the BIG red button that captures them in a cage. The warthogs beg to be released, but the pirates and tigers and cheetahs say they only can if they promise not to pop holes in their castle and cave ever again... and then they became best friends forever, awwww!

Hunter and his class painted the entire set. We parents weren't allowed to touch a paint brush, but could only direct them in how to paint things.
Hunter's teacher, Mrs. Yardley, is really amazing. How do you thank a teacher enough for picking up your slack at home? (Like, seriously?... teacher appreciation week is this week and I need to think of something great to thank her with.)
Hunter has learned so much in kindergarten and I am so grateful. Mrs. Yardley is a very good discipliner and I've learned a few tricks from her that seem to work well with my kids at home. I truly admire kindergarten teachers. I'm quite exhausted after volunteering just a couple times a month for an hour.

Hunter told me on paint day that it was his favorite day of school! A lot of the kids loved getting paint all over them, but not my Hunter. He made sure not an ounce got on him. OCD has its benefits, I suppose.
Hunter's friend, Gwen and her team painted the castle.
Hunter told me he wants to marry Gwen, so one day I asked her who she wanted to marry. She told me Caleb, who was another boy in their class. Caleb happens to be the one boy that Hunter didn't want to invite to his birthday party this past year.
Hunter and his team were in charge of painting the cave with the holes punched in it. Didn't they do a fantastic job?!
These are the tiger and cheetah costumes that me and my friend, Kate, were in charge of making. We were quite proud of our creation. Hunter was so excited to take his costume home.
And here they are after they performed for us. Both mine and Jon's parents were able to come and Hunter loved that! I was so proud of Hunter, especially since I could hear his lovely monotone voice overpower everyone else's during the opera!
