Summer's End Vacation

Our vacation to Bear Lake was pretty great! Even though we still had to make dinner, watch the kids like a hawk and do laundry, it was so nice to do it in a more scenic place! We were lucky enough to stay in Jon's work's condo for a week, which is right on the beach. We felt pretty spoiled!
The kids had a blast making sand castles, burying their feet, swimming in the water and finding black sea shells. They also went on a "treasure hunt" and found 2 disposable cameras, which they immediately took the 24 total exposures in under 90 seconds. (whoever buried those cameras didn't realize that it costs $7.00 to develop film at Walmart:)
Jon and I really loved getting away from home. We played board games at night, finally got around to watching all of the last Harry Potter movie, and ate way too many candybars and cinnamon rolls.
Grey loves getting dirty, so this was the ideal place for him. He loved squishing the sand between his fingers and walking along the beach in the cool, crisp water.

This is what Grey does when he wants something. He doesn't like to put much effort into getting things himself. This is what he was reaching for...
Last year when we came, Hunter was swinging on the "bad swing" and ended up getting cut really badly-don't even ask me how it happened. We completely avoided the bad swing this year.
This is how daddy and Hunter got around
Hunter really loves computer games. The condo had an XBox, so Hunter would have been happy to just play it the whole time we were there. He is now obsessed with Lego batman.

On the way home, we stopped at Rick Springs. Brrrrr! That water was cold!

Goodbye Summer... (sigh)

What a great way to end the summer! It looks like it was a great time to get away and enjoy the water and relaxing and treats! It reminds me of St. George! Good times. I love how Grey tries to get things, tell him to keep trying, maybe someday he'll get it. I especially love the last picture, I'm glad you printed that one off! What a fun mommy you are!

Oh Mandi! That last picture is the cutest thing ever! What an amazing way to end the summer. That picture of Grey reaching for the seagull totally made me laugh! He is so cute! I agree with JaNae, you are the funnest mom. Buying dispsable cameras is such a great idea! I bet they loved that! Hope to see you Saturday! :)
