my best friend's birthday

Today is my wonderful husband's birthday! He turned 31, but he is really a kid at heart:)

Jon is one of the funniest people I know. I usually laugh at everyone anyway, but he seriously hilarious! It's just the way he says things that is funny. I really can't describe what he does, because he's not trying to be funny, but he just is funny; does that make sense? I didn't think so.

Usually when I'm ready to rip my hair out a handful at a time, he steps in to take over with "his way" of doing things like pretending he's a monster. Hunter will run off laughing, and Jaina will stop dead in her tracks screaming bloody murder (Jon loves it!)

I've learned a lot being married to this man, like:

*just because he doesn't know how to read my mind, doesn't mean he can't interpret my body language. He is really good at telling when I'm mad, sad or frustrated. He really understands that "when mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" and he's really good and solving the problem fast! or

*just because he doesn't take out the overflowing trash doesn't mean he didn't notice it.

I've also learned that Jon has an impeccable memory. He only has to hear something once and he's got it down. example: his friend gave him a quick run down on how to install a sprinkling system. And he had it pat down without having to go back and ask any questions. This talent also comes into good use when he repeats exactly how Jaina says things with her wonderful speech impediment. I find this so amazing, because I have to have things repeated 4 or 5 times before I understand anything.

Jon is the most easy going person in the world. There is only one person in the world that really annoys him and that would be a guy he works with who comes into his cubicle and touches all his things.

I have to say this, but Jon is pretty hot! He has nice broad shoulders, strong arms and beautiful eyes! Is it really possible that people get better looking with age, because it sure is with him!

Jon is incredibly smart! He can figure out how to do anything and is willing to do anything for me. example: I subscribed to a free 14 day trial to my favorite cooking magazine (Cooks illustrated). So I gave myself 2 weeks to copy and paste all the hundreds of recipes I wanted. Annoying. But instead, my sweet husband wrote up a computer program that would grab every single recipe on the site, like over 1,000 of them. It all sounded so wonderful, until he realized the site was too smart for that and wouldn't allow it, but it was the thought that count. Yes, my husband is very smart and can almost figure everything out!

And Jon is a fabulous daddy. Our kids looooove him! I can see it in Jon's eyes how much he loves and cares for each of them. He loves being a dad!
