For family night, we decided to teach the kids about saving money. My dad made these really cute "bear banks" so we painted them and we give the kids a penny here and a nickel there when they do chores. The kids helped me out so much yesterday picking up their toys and vacuuming, that I thought they deserved to go spend there money at the dollar store. I gave Hunter his money and he picked out an awesome toy truck. When we went to pay for it, he was hesitant to give it to the clerk. As I could see we were holding up the line, I told Hunter he needed to give the man the money, so he basically threw the change down on the counter. On the drive home, Hunter kept asking where his money was and we had to explain to him that you use money to buy things and that he can earn some more money. I don't think he liked that idea too much:)
Poor Jon got a horrible cut on his finger on Monday while trying to fix the sprinkling system. We spent 3 glorious hours in the ER while he got stitches.
I gave Jaina her first real haircut. I cut about 2 inches off.
We have been living off Otter pops at our house. They have been the perfect treat for a nice hot day!
Hunter had a nap with one of his potato bugs,
...and Jaina caught up on some reading! Hope you all had as fun of a week as we did!

Oh my goodness! Do you have the cutest family ever or what?! I love that Hunter loves bugs so much. He and Grace will have a lot to talk about! And Jaina's hair is darling! I love that it's flipped out! So cute. And poor Jon. I swear that's going to happen around here someday. I also love that you taught the kids about money. You guys are such great parents! i love his little bug tin. i think i did the same thing only i put them in cool whip containers. sorry about jon's finger! trips to the er are never fun.

I love that Hunter loves bugs! I can see through the pictures that he is very particular and protective of those bugs! I love Jaina's haircut...what a cutie! Poor Jon, I hate going to the ER, but to have to go for stiches, uggh! I just got done talking to you about the contractions...I can't wait to see this baby...most likely in the next couple week!!
What a cute post. I just love your little kids they are so cute. The bug box is a great idea and Jaina hair looks really cute. I don't know what is worse the cut or the wait in the ER. I am sorry to hear that. I hope it is healing well.

Hunter is so cute, I can just imagine him picking up all his little bugs! I love listening to him talk! Jaina cracks me up, too. She seems like she'll be very outgoing!
